Everyday tension
A calm way to meet the tension that gathers through an ordinary day at a desk.
Desk days gather quietly in the neck and shoulders. A few warm minutes in the evening — or whenever it builds — keeps that tension from settling in.
The routine
- Drop your shoulders. Sit comfortably, lower your shoulders away from your ears, and breathe out slowly.
- Warm the tight spot. Apply a thin layer of gel along the tops of the shoulders or the sides of the neck.
- Move gently. Slow, small circles on a low intensity, staying on the soft muscle and away from the spine.
- Let it settle. A few minutes per side, then sit with the warmth before you move on.
Tips
- Raise your screen to eye level and stand once an hour to slow the build-up.
- Keep it brief and gentle — this is a comma in the day, not a chapter.
