Settling down after movement

A short wind-down for tired muscles after training or a long day on your feet.

10 minutes·after activity

After effort, the body settles most easily when you give it a clear, gentle signal that it is done. This is a ten-minute routine for the muscles that worked hardest — calves, thighs, shoulders.

The routine

  1. Cool down first. Let your breathing return to normal before you begin; this is the wind-down, not more exercise.
  2. Warm the worked area. Apply a thin layer of gel to the muscle that feels most tired.
  3. Work slowly. Move the head in unhurried circles on a low-to-medium intensity, staying on the soft muscle.
  4. Switch sides. Spend a few minutes per area, then finish with a moment of stillness.

Tips

  • Pair it with water and a few slow breaths.
  • Keep the intensity gentle — soreness is not a target.
  • If something is sharply painful or swollen, leave it and see a professional.
